Upendra Mahato

Dr. Upendra Mahato (Nepali: उपेन्द्र महतो) is one of the richest people of Nepali origin. He currently resides in Russia where he is the president of the Russia-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the Honorary consul General of Nepal in the Republic of Belarus. He is former president of Non Resident Nepalese Association, International coordination council (NRNA, ICC).

Awards and recognition

Dr. Upendra Mahato,, been awarded with the title 'Manager of the Year-2007' in Russia, organised by Free Economic Society of Russia and International Academy of Management under the support of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation since 1997. Dr. Mahato is the first foreign national to receive the prestigious award awarded in Russia. He was awarded along with the title, a statuette of Catherine the Great, a diploma amidst, a Big Medal, and a gala ceremony as an honor held at Moscow President Hotel on 22 April 2008.

He is the first Nepali to get Doctor of Science in the technical field. He got his Ph. D and D.SC. from International Academy of Information Technology, Minsk, Belarus. He started gaining multinational experience prior 1992 A.D. in business and has more earlier in Social work.

He introduce spicenepal to teliasonera group (Sweden/Finland).

There are only few people who doesn't support employer to get rid of strike he is one of them. When there was a dispute in between the company spicenepal and the employers he played a vital role to sort out and personally present himself to give more support.
